The
Kiddie Olympics was founded in 2007 as an awareness event for
childhood obesity by Derrick and Catrenia McLendon in Atlanta,
Georgia. Derrick, a former Division 1 athlete and graduate of
the University of Tennessee and Catrenia an Administrator at
a technical college felt children under six were underserved
where fitness and nutrition was concerned.
